THE TEAM

Tracksmith is an Independent Running Brand

We honor the Amateur Spirit upon which the sport was founded and champion the Running Class – the non-professional yet competitive runners dedicated to the pursuit of personal excellence. We offer well-considered, authentic products for training, racing and recovery. Our aim is to celebrate, support and add to running’s distinct culture.

Our office and flagship retail store are located at 285 Newbury Street in Boston’s historic Back Bay neighborhood. We host group workouts for all ability levels on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, followed by recovery snacks and beverages on the roof deck. Our space is bright, airy and distinct, filled with bright, ambitious and original thinkers. We’re always looking for great talent as we continue to grow the team.

Our current openings are listed below.

Head of Retail

Tracksmith is building the future of running retail and is seeking a leader with experience and creativity to help build the strategy and drive the execution. We operate one flagship store in Boston – the Trackhouse – and execute a number of pop-up and short-term retail experiences throughout the year. The Trackhouse is a unique location, with one floor dedicated to traditional retail and the other to community space for run clubs, events, post-run recovery, and more. Our HQ sits above on the third floor.

The ideal candidate will obsess over both the performance of the store (i.e., traffic, sales, order values) and also the experience provided to our customers and the Boston running community. You will also lead the planning and execution of remote retail experiences in key markets around the world. As such, you will work collaboratively with the finance, product, operations and creative teams.

Tracksmith is a nimble team of highly motivated and productive individuals. Leaders at Tracksmith must be both strategic and hands on – you will be building the future of running retail at a high level while also jumping in with the team to get the job done on a granular level. This position initially reports to the CEO.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the retail store.
• Manage the P&L to meet or exceed the sales plan.
• Create strategic merchandising plans to increase traffic, try-on and order value.
• Develop programs to drive foot traffic and awareness in the greater Boston area.
• Recruit, develop and motivate a strong retail team that shares in our vision.
• Ensure a standard of service and customer experience consistent with the brand.
• Take ownership of the store appearance, cleanliness and organization.
• Plan and execute remote retail experiences, such as pop-ups.
• Build a strong network of customers, partners and media in the Boston area.

Requirements:

You have continuously proven yourself academically, personally and professionally. You have succeeded in demanding, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments. You have 3+ years of retail management experience demonstrating a commitment to service and sales. You have a thirst for new ideas and rigor in executing them. You have exceptional leadership, planning, analytical and communication skills. You have no problems regularly lifting 30+ pounds and being on your feet most of the day.

Retail and Community Associate

Since we opened the Trackhouse doors in April, we’ve been growing our presence on Newbury Street. More that just a retail space, the Trackhouse is where runners come to train, connect, relax and indulge themselves in the sport they love. We’re looking for team members to help enhance the customer experience at the Trackhouse, guiding their retail journey and engaging them as athletes.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong retail experience and running background or interest.
• Experience in supporting and executing special events.
• Availability for at least 5 weekend days a month, 15-20 hours per week.
• Great interpersonal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and organization.
• General knowledge of the Tracksmith brand and the Boston running community.
